Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)
Our REU programs are tailored to motivate students toward careers in science. Students participate in cutting-edge scientific research, learn laboratory skills, and improve oral and written communication skills. We encourage our students to continue doing research in our department after they have completed their REU. We support their work with research funds, when possible, or encourage REU experiences at other locations. Our philosophy is that an REU experience, followed by further research experience, can prepare a substantial number of our students for admission to the best graduate schools in the nation!
