Campus Safety

Recognizing the importance of campus safety, the Wayne State Police Department promotes good practices, and a strong presence, though discrete, on campus. The Wayne State University campus is a very safe environment in which to study and live. By law, Michigan Universities monitor and report all criminal activity on their respective campuses. These data are reported annually to the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center which produces a detailed report of all criminal activity in Michigan.

The crime statistics indicate that the Wayne State University Campus is, in fact, safer than most campuses located in urban areas.
